Rain, rain, rain!  We are not complaining.  The drought appears to be broken, which is great news for the vineyard and the ponds.  At this writing, we have had over 18 inches of rain in the month of May.  And we have three days to go, with more rain in the forecast. Creeks are flowing, ponds are running over the spillways, and the Arkansas River in the valley is out of its banks, with dams releasing water to relieve the flooding.  We are sad for those in Texas and Oklahoma experiencing epic flooding with loss of property and life.  We know people locally who have lost their crops due to the flooding of fields, or berry farmers sustaining heavy rains and little sunshine.  We encourage all visiting our area to remain cautious in the days ahead.  All creeks and rivers in Ozarks and Ouachita Mountains are subject to rapidly rising and flooding.  Enjoy the beauty of the waterfalls and the mountain greenery, and stay weather-aware.
