We are happy to be in the first week of the new year, back in the vineyard. The job at hand is the winter pruning, which is always a challenge in dealing with winter elements. We are stocked with warm socks, new warm boots, and polar-grade pants and coveralls. For breaks, we have driven to the Turner Bend Store at the junction of Highway 23 and the Mulberry River in Arkansas. The owners recently renovated the store and expanded their offerings. This weekend we visited the Oark General Store and Cafe, enjoying the food, including homemade pies, and the ambiance. Both destinations were terrific, and the drive through the Ozark Mountains to reach them always take my breath away! I can't wait for the next excursion!
