The muscadines are on track, growing well, and the grapes are getting bigger. We're mostly irrigating now, although we had a two-inch rain shower early in the week that gave us a break. For some reason, it seems hard to wield the camera when it's hot, so we made an extra effort this week to document summer in the Ozarks. The blackberries are just ripe; butterflies are plentiful; the hay is being baled; and we found honeybees hanging on their porch...that is, sitting outside the opening of their bee tree, cooling themselves and their home. Sorry, we have not captured the local ice cream cones, peach cobbler, and Texas sheet cake which are summer staples around here--they were too quickly consumed!
